Its been a great May long weekend

We have been a very busy Derkowski family this past weekend. We managed to finish painting our condo (mostly), we went to my cousins graduation party, hiked up a third of Mount Yamnuska (well maybe it was a fourth), assembled and stained our new muskoka chairs, entertianed friends from Edmonton, made and drank some very tasty lime margaritas, and tossed a frizbee around Princess Island park.

I hope everyone else out there had a great weekend as well, there are all to few long weeknds in a year. I would safely wager that the Victoria day long weekend is the best of them all!!

The pictures include two from Mount Yamnuska (isn't Natalie adorable hiking with her dad), my little cowgirl at the Whitney ranch, a very messy eating experience (I think she was trying to give herself an oatmeal facial), bath time, sleeping baby (with ample rolls of baby fat), and some of the babies from her circle of friends (Natalie is on the far left then clockwise to Lauren, Connor and Erin), and playing in her exersaucer in our wee little backyard.

Seven months old and growing like a weed

Spring has sprung over here at the Derkowski house and we are busy as always. I am keeping myself busy with baby group meetings and with playt, diapering and feeding Natalie. I savour the rare moment that I get for myself and so I was so happy last friday when I finally used a spa gift certificate given to me by Conrad and Diava. It was amazing I had a massage and manicure pedicure, and no baby related interuptions for over 3 hours!

Natalie is sleeping in her crib. She takes most of her naps in her own bed and sleeps there at night. Although ocasionaly after papa Chris leaves for work she will come cuddle in our bed for a bit before I get up and start my day.

We just bought a sweet backpack baby carrier on the bargain finder. We tend to buy a lot of baby stuff used and pocket the savings. For the most part there is a good selection of used baby goods out there at incredible discounts. Natalie lieks the backpack carrier although I prefer when Chris wears it as I can only wear it for 30 minutes or so before I feel like my arms are going to fall off.

She is doing pretty good eating solid food although sometimes I have a hard time getting her to eat her veggies. I just keep trying to introduce them and eventually she easts them. Her favorite food is fruit, particularly apples and bananas. She also ate her first arrowroot cookie last week and it disapeared into a big sticky mess.

GO FLAMES GO!!
