Yesterday was Natalie’s first doctor’s appointment. Everything went very well and she is slowly gaining her weight back. She had been slightly jaundiced, which is really common for newborns, but it seems to have cleared up by now. Chris and I are discovering Natalie’s little quirks and her signals. She definitely lets us know when she is hungry because she will start smacking her lips and sticking out her tongue. She tried to gnaw Chris’s arm off this morning while I was in the shower. I did not anticipate exactly how hungry breastfeeding would make me. For the first time in our relationship I am finishing the food off of Chris’s plate! At night I try to let Chris sleep while I feed and change her because if he is sleepy then there is nobody else to make my breakfast in the morning.
Yesterday was her first bath at home and I have to say she seemed to fuss much less then when the nurse at the hospital gave her a bath. Then she had some tummy time on daddys chest (she loves that).

And that is the way I liked it too ... babies on my tummy and chest, while I grabbed a few winks lost from the night before.

Great blog... more comments to follow.
Well hello there little NED keepers. Keepers of the NED. It has an air of mystery and long-standing tradition. It is your sworn duty to protect and keep the NED!
Anyway...
It's Elescia here. I just wanted to say, "Fantastic Blog site!" The photos of little Natalie are awesome - Steven wasn't kidding when he said she was quite possibly the cutest baby ever. So photogenic!!
Chris, you are so good to be lookin after Heather while she is recooperating. Heather, you are amazing! Good job, both of you!
I can't wait to come and visit her (and you two, of course). Most people think that a few days/weeks of time alone with baby are important to the parents. Not only are you tired but you're trying to figure out all the baby-things and having company sometimes can add to the exhaustion. (Family of course is the exception). I will come and visit soon! In the meantime, enjoy your little world of confinement (see Heather? that's why they call it that!) which is a joyous place where nothing exists except your new FAMILY unit!
Love to you all - Elescia
Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! Chris and Heather, I am sure you are awesome parents (and I am also sure Neddie doesn't notice nor mind that you guys are new at this "job" ;-) you seem to be doing really well). Congrats, again.
